Netjer:Atum/Tmu
"The Complete"
Netjer:Atum or Tmu was a solar deity in ancient
Kh.m who according to his priest was the creator of the Universe.
The Story runs Thus: Out of the chaotic waters of Nu/Nun came the Netjer
Atum (Tmu) the sun god of Heliopolis (Annu/On). According to the
legend Atum created himself out of the chaotic waters by force of will.
In the spot where he created himself he made a hill (according to various
sources this hill was the Netjer: Ta-tanen or Netjer: Ptah) for himself
to stand on. On this spot is where the temple of Annu (Heliopolis)
is built. Atum which means tthe "complete" one was called "the great
He-She" by the Kh.mw(Egyptians). He is considered to be an hermaphrodite...He
gave birth to his children through masturbation. Atum is the father
of Shw the Netjer of air and Tafnwt the Netjert of moisture. Shw
and Tafnwt then pro-created as brother and sister to bring forth Geb/Seb/Keb
the Netjer of Earth and Nwt the Netjert who represents the sky.
Netjer: Geb
Netjert: Nwt representing the Sky
Netjer: Shu
Shw and Tafnwt brought a "social order" to creation.
Shw represented the principles of Life (Ankh),
while Tafnwt represented the principle of order (maA). Shw &
Tafnwt became lost within the chaos of Nu and Netjer: Atum removed his
eye the Udjat and sent it in search of his children within the watery chaos
of Nun.
The Udjat
Shw & Tafnwt finally returned
with the Udjat. When this happened Atum wept. As he wept the
tears from his eye hit the ground and created human beings. Atum
then begin to go about the process of completing creation. So you
have Nu - the Dark, watery chaos. Shw - the Air, Tafnwt - the Moisture,
Geb - the Earth, Nwt - the Sky. Geb and Nwt gave birth to Ausar and
Auset, Set & Nebt-Het (Nephthys).
